Team Power Chris Washington (6’7 – SF/PF) had a great summer playing and impressing D1 college coaches in the month of July during the NCAA certified events in Indianapolis, IN (Hoosier Shootout), Louisville, KY (Eddie Ford Kentucky Hoopfest), and Orlando, FL (AAU Showcase & Nationals). He received interest and recruitment from colleges like Georgia Southern, Longwood Univ., Western Carolina, North Florida, USC Upstate, Morehead State, Mercer, and a host of other mid/low major D1 colleges. He is currently being recruited by a host of low/mid major D1’s, Junior Colleges, & holds a few Junior College offers.

Team Power Robert Turner (PG/SG) got a chance this summer to impress college coaches with his great ability to shoot the rock and get in the lane & mix it up with the big boys. He is transitioning into a role of PG at Laney High School in Augusta, GA; he left Georgia Class A – Aquinas HS were he led them his 1st 3 years of high school in scoring and lead them to the Elite 8 his junior year. He has great quickness and ball handling ability; can shoot the rock with the best of them, and is improving his defensive skills sets everyday with his intensity level effort. He is currently being recruited by low major D1’s Mercer, Arkansas Pine-Bluff, and D2’s Newberry, Benedict, & etc.
Team Power AAU Grassroots Basketball program is having tryouts for boys 9U/3rd – 17U/11th Grade for their travelling teams during the months of January and February. Team Power season will tip off in early March for younger teams and late March for high school age teams. More information can be found on our website at www.augustapower.org.
